Welcome to Snowdonia

Dogs - Terms and Conditions

As dog owners ourselves, we understand that being able to bring your pet on holiday with you is a great bonus and we want to make sure that they enjoy their time as much as you.  Therefore, we welcome dogs at Bryn Afon and have aimed to make the cottage dog friendly.

Almost with out exception guests with dogs have been great fun and have caused absolutely no problems.  However, because our hospitality could be ‘misunderstood’ we have introduced some simple ‘rules of the house’ to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable holiday.

We allow a maximum of 2 well behaved dogs.

 What you need to bring:

        ·          Dog beds

·          Towels for drying wet dogs

·          Proper covers for furniture, in case your dog gets onto the furniture

·          Dog bowls

·          Any other items you need for your dogs happy holiday

·          Frontline your dog 2 weeks prior to arrival

·          Poo bags

 Outside the cottage:

The cottage garden is fenced to help keep dogs in and other animals out.  However, please keep an eye on your dogs to ensure that despite our best efforts, they do not manage to escape from the property.

·          We understand that dogs love being on holiday and experiencing new surroundings, but please ensure that they do not get too excited and disturb any of the neighbours with their barking.

·          Please keep an eye on your dogs to ensure they have not found an escape route.  If you spot a potential escape route, please let us know using the feed back form.

·          Please ensure that you are a responsible dog owner and always pick up after your dogs for the benefit of future guests and the neighbours.

 Inside the cottage:

Please limit your dogs to the ground floor and make sure that you bring everything that they will need during their stay.  A gate is provided, if necessary, to stop them getting upstairs.

·          Living area: Please keep dogs off the furniture unless you have adequately covered it with proper throws to avoid damage.

·          Upstairs: Please do not let dogs go upstairs – a dog gate is provided.

 General:

      ·          Do not leave your dog unattended in the house at any time.

·          There are many local walks to ensure that your dog gets plenty of exercise; some even get to lead their owners up to the summit of Snowdon.  As you might expect, sheep are a very common feature of this part of the Country, so please keep your dog under control at all times and watch out for the signs indicating that your dog needs to be kept on a lead.

·          Porthmadog is a short drive away and just outside the town is Black Rock Sands beach which is dog friendly.  See ‘Things to do’ for directions.

·          Please remember to bring a towel along to dry your dog off if he has managed to really enjoy himself and indulge in some of the local streams and mud.

·          We reserve the right to make a charge for extra cleaning that needs to be carried out as a result of your dog and we will charge for any damage caused.

We do hope that you and your dogs enjoy your stay.
